Using filters and segments in Seamailer allows you to create more targeted, personalized emails for your audience. Here’s a friendly guide on how to use them effectively!

1. What Are Filters and Segments? 🤔
  • Filters allow you to sort through your contacts based on specific criteria, like location, purchase history, or sign-up date. Think of them as instant ways to find the right people for a message.
  • Segments are groups of contacts created based on one or more filters. When you save a segment, you can use it repeatedly for specific campaigns or automations.
2. How to Set Up Filters
  • In the Contacts tab, look for Filter Contacts under segment. Here, you can set up filters based on:
    • Demographics  – Such as location, language, or gender.
    • Engagement  – Filter by how recently contacts have engaged with your emails.
    • Activity  – Look for contacts based on actions like purchase history or website visits.
  • Adjust these filters to sort contacts based on your specific needs.
3. Creating a Segment
  • Once you have the right filters applied, click Save as Segment.
  • Name your segment something memorable, like “Frequent Buyers” or “Inactive Subscribers” so you can easily find it later.
4. Using Segments in Campaigns
  • Now that you have segments, you can target your campaigns to specific groups.
  • Go to Campaigns, choose your email, and select the segment you want to reach.
  • This allows you to send relevant content to each segment, increasing engagement and boosting conversions.
5. Dynamic Segments for Real-Time Updates 🔄
  • Seamailer’s segments are dynamic, meaning they automatically update as contacts meet or no longer meet the criteria.
  • For example, if someone makes a purchase and becomes a “Frequent Buyer,” they’re automatically added to that segment without you having to update it manually!
6. Examples of Segments to Get Started
  • New Subscribers: Those who signed up recently, perfect for welcome emails.
  • Engaged Contacts: contacts who open or click emails often.
  • Inactives: Contacts who haven’t engaged in a while, great for re-engagement campaigns.
  • Big Spenders: Those who’ve made large purchases are ideal for exclusive offers.
7. Review and Refine Your Segments
  • Over time, check your segments to ensure they’re still relevant.
  • Look at engagement metrics for each segment to see if they’re performing as expected, and adjust criteria if needed.
Bonus Tips
  • Use Descriptive Names. The clearer your segment names, the easier they are to find.
  • Combine Filters Creatively: Mix different filters to reach the perfect audience for special campaigns.
  • Test Content for Each Segment: Tailor your message to each group to boost engagement!

With filters and segments in Seamailer, you can make each campaign count by reaching the right people every time!
