Segments
Segments help you group your contacts based on specific information, like when they subscribed, where they live, or how they engage with your emails. This allows you to send personalized messages to each group.

What are segments?
Segments are personalized groups of contacts created automatically based on certain conditions. They are part of your overall contact list. As your contacts' information changes or new contacts meet the criteria for a segment, it updates automatically.
Example
If you set up a segment for contacts who opened a specific email campaign, anyone who opens that email will automatically be added to the segment. You can then use this segment to send targeted messages, like re-engagement emails or special offers.
How to Use Segments
You create segments by defining conditions that your contacts must meet. If a contact matches these conditions, they are included in the segment; if they no longer meet the criteria, they are removed.
Creating Segments You can:
- Create a segment to filter your contacts.
- Use a segment template. Below is an example of a segment template on seamailer

Types of Segments
Simple Segments: These have one condition, such as:
- Contacts on a specific list.
- Contacts who opened an email campaign in the last month.
- Contacts who ordered from your website in the last two months.
Complex Segments: These may involve multiple conditions.
When to Use Segments
Segments are ideal for sending targeted messages to specific groups. Here are some scenarios:
- Special Offers: Send promotions only to customers who made a
purchase recently. - Engagement: Reach out to contacts who have opened your emails in the last three months with exclusive content.
- Cross-Selling: Target customers who bought one product but haven't purchased related items with tailored recommendations.
Segments also help you maintain and analyze your contact list:
- Identify unengaged or inactive contacts and reach out one last time.
If they don’t respond, consider removing them from your list to focus on
engaged contacts.
Since segments update in real-time, they provide valuable insights into your contacts' behavior and spending habits.
