What are segments

Last Update 7 maanden geleden
Information such as when a contact subscribed to your list, where they live, or how they interact with your emails can be used to segment your contacts into groups and target them with personalized messaging.
For instance, if you have a database of 1,000 contacts, you can create a segment that includes only contacts residing in a particular city, those who have engaged with your recent email campaign, or those who have made a recent purchase on your website.
There are notable distinctions between lists and segments:
Size:
- Lists are generally larger than segments, encompassing all or a portion of individual contacts in a database.
- Segments, on the other hand, are smaller groups of contacts within the database or list, chosen based on specified criteria.
Purpose:
- Lists are primarily utilized for organizing contact information and sending messages to broad audiences.
- Segments are employed for targeted messaging, assessing marketing performance, and other specific objectives.
Flexibility:
- Lists are typically more static, representing the overall pool of contacts for a business.
- Segments offer more adaptability compared to lists as they are dynamic, expanding as new contacts meet the criteria and contracting as contacts no longer meet them. They can be adjusted based on changing criteria or business requirements.
How to create a segment to filter your contacts
- Go to Contacts.
- Click "Segments"
- Click on "Create segment."
