We're excited to help you transition from MailerLite to our powerful and user-friendly email marketing platform. We understand that switching platforms can feel overwhelming, but don’t worry — this guide will walk you through the entire process, step by step, in simple and easy-to-follow instructions.

By the end of this guide, you’ll be ready to start using SeaMailer with all your contacts, email templates, and automation workflows successfully migrated. Let’s get started

Step 1: Sign Up for SeaMailer

Before you start migrating your data from MailerLite, you'll need to create an account with SeaMailer. If you haven’t already signed up, follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit the SeaMailer Website: Go to  https://www.seamailer.app/
  2. Click “Sign Up ”: On the homepage, you’ll see a button that says Sign Up in the top-right corner. Click it.

3. Enter Your Information: Fill in your email address, create a secure password, and agree to the Terms of Service. Then, click Create Account. No fears! Your data is highly protected!

4. Verify Your Email: Check your inbox for a verification email from SeaMailer.

Click the link in the email to confirm your registration.

Once you’ve completed these steps, you’ll be ready to start transferring your data.

Step 2: Export Your Contacts from MailerLite

The first step in migrating to SeaMailer is to export your contacts from MailerLite. Here’s how:

  1. Log into MailerLite: Go to www.mailerlite.com and log in to your account.
  2. Navigate to ‘Subscribers’: On the left-hand menu, click on Subscribers to access your email list.
  3. Export Your Subscriber List:
    • Select the Groups or Subscribers you want to export. You can export all your subscribers or just specific groups.
    • Click the Export button (usually found at the top right of the screen).
    • Choose CSV as the export file format. CSV files are compatible with SeaMailer and most other platforms.
    • Once the export is complete, download the CSV file to your computer.
🔔 Tip: Clean up your list before exporting by removing inactive subscribers or duplicates. This will make it easier to manage your list in SeaMailer later.

To do this quickly, you can use our email verifier and clean-up tool to verify and clean up your contact list before importing to ensure high deliverability.

Step 3: Import Your Contacts to SeaMailer

Now that you’ve exported your contacts from MailerLite, you can easily import them into Seamailer.

  1. Log into SeaMailer: Go to your SeaMailer account and open the Subscribers section from the left sidebar.
  2. Click “Import Contacts”: In the Subscribers section, click the Import Contacts button.
  3. Upload Your CSV File:
    • Select Upload a File and choose the CSV file you downloaded from MailerLite.
    • Map the fields to match (e.g., First Name, Last Name, Email Address). SeaMailer will automatically try to map them based on your CSV data.
    • Once everything looks good, click Next.
  4. Create or Assign Subscriber Groups: You can create new groups for your contacts or assign them to existing groups during the import process. Groups help you organize your contacts based on preferences or actions.

Now your contacts are safely imported into SeaMailer, and you're ready to start creating campaigns! 🎉

Step 4: Transfer Your Email Templates

If you’ve designed custom email templates in MailerLite, you’ll need to recreate them in SeaMailer. Unfortunately, MailerLite doesn’t allow direct export of templates, but it’s simple to manually transfer them.

  1. Log into MailerLite: Go to Campaigns and select the templates you want to export.
  2. Export or Copy the Template:
    • If your template includes HTML, you can export it by copying the HTML code.
    • If your template was built with MailerLite’s drag-and-drop editor, you’ll need to manually recreate it in SeaMailer.
  3. Recreate Your Templates in SeaMailer:
    • Log into SeaMailer and go to Campaigns > Create New Campaign.
    • Choose a template, or use the drag-and-drop editor to design your email. You can paste the HTML code if you exported it from MailerLite.
  4. Save Your Templates: Once you’ve recreated your template, save it for future use.
🔧 Tip: SeaMailer offers a wide variety of pre-made templates to help speed up the process of email design. Explore our template library to find one that suits your needs!

Step 5: Recreate Your Automation

If you’ve been using automations in MailerLite, such as welcome emails or drip campaigns, you’ll need to set these up again in SeaMailer. Here’s how:

  1. Log into SeaMailer: Navigate to the Automation section in your SeaMailer dashboard.
  2. Create a New Automation:
    • Click Create New Automation.
    • Choose a trigger for your workflow (e.g., when someone subscribes to a list, opens an email, etc.).
  3. Design Your Workflow:
    • Add the necessary steps, such as sending a welcome email, adding a delay, or sending a follow-up.
    • SeaMailer makes it easy to build automations with a simple, visual workflow editor.
  4. Review and Activate: Once you’ve set up your automation, double-check everything, then click Activate.

🔁 Tip: Start with basic automations like a welcome email or a thank-you message, and build more complex workflows as you get familiar with SeaMailer’s features.

Step 6: Test Everything Before You Go Live

Before sending your first campaign, it’s important to thoroughly test your setup. Here’s what to check:

  1. Test Your Email Templates: Send a test email to yourself to make sure it looks great on different devices (mobile, desktop, etc.) and in different email clients (e.g., Gmail, Outlook).
  2. Test Automations: Sign up for your list or trigger the conditions for an automation to ensure it works as expected.
  3. Review Deliverability: Make sure your emails are landing in the inbox and not in the spam folder. You can check this by sending test emails to different accounts.
🛠️ Tip: SeaMailer provides detailed analytics, so keep an eye on your open rates, click-through rates, and other key performance metrics to gauge how well your emails are performing.

Step 7: Cancel Your MailerLite Subscription (Optional)

Once everything is set up and running smoothly in SeaMailer, you might want to cancel your MailerLite subscription (if you no longer need it):

  1. Log into MailerLite: Go to Account Settings.
  2. Navigate to ‘Billing’: In the account settings, find the Billing section.
  3. Cancel Subscription: Follow the instructions to cancel your subscription or downgrade to a free plan if you’d prefer to keep your MailerLite account open for reference.
🔔 Reminder: Make sure all your important data is safely transferred before canceling your MailerLite account.
